NEON Heating & Cooling provides residential HVAC installation in San Francisco and nearby Bay Area communities. We handle the project from equipment selection through installation and final testing.
A new HVAC system should fit the home, not just the square footage. We look at the layout, insulation, window exposure, existing ductwork, and your heating and cooling needs before recommending anything.
The right setup also comes down to what matters most to you. Some homeowners want lower energy bills. Others care more about even temperatures, quieter operation, or better room-by-room control.
Our residential HVAC installation services bring all of that together, so the system fits the property and works the way you need it to day to day.
We match the equipment to your home, comfort needs, and budget. Before recommending a system, we look at three key factors:
Depending on your home, the right fit may be central HVAC, a furnace, a heat pump, or a ductless mini-split. We’ll break down the options. Then we’ll help you choose what works best for your space.
Proper sizing matters. A system that’s too large may short-cycle, while one that’s too small can struggle to keep up. We evaluate the home before recommending equipment.
Our HVAC installer helps you balance upfront cost, energy efficiency, comfort, and long-term operating costs. The goal is to find a system that fits both your home and your budget.

Our experience with Freon HVAC has been exceptional for a full panel upgrade to 200 amps and installation of a new Mitsubishi mini-split system in an old house. We took quotes from 4 different top rated hvac providers in the San Jose area, before deciding to go with Freon. I appreciated the honesty and detailed analysis of our needs by Slava when he first showed up to do an estimate. He asked a ton of questions, checked the house for existing setup, wiring, possibilities, and discussed multiple possibilities including ducted, gas, hybrid, and heat pump only. Once we decided to go with a specific type of configuration, he gave us multiple options. Their pricing was competitive and while it took forever for PGE to get to the wiring/transformer upgrade, Freon's team worked with them patiently to meet our needs. Special thanks to Jessica for regular follow ups with PGE and us. Once PGE scheduled the wiring upgrade (after 3 months), Freon's team was prompt and did a very clean install including all internal wiring and drainage work. They ensured city inspection was scheduled promptly and addressed all city concerns for a quick approval. I have not dealt with a more professional and competent crew in this area in a very long time. Would love to do business with them again.![]()

I usually doubt perfect 5-star ratings, but Freon completely earned theirs. My AC/heater combo unit broke, and every other company told me I needed a total replacement, quoting me between $9k and $12k. Freon came out to inspect it, and later that day, they gave me a quote for just $3,000 to repair it. I signed the contract that night, and they were back to do the work just 5 days later on June 19th. The tech replaced the compressor to get it running, but didn't stop there. He thoroughly tested the system, caught a power issue, and replaced the compressor relay and expansion valve to ensure the unit wouldn't break down again. Outstanding service. I'm finally set for the summer and winter. They deserve every single star!![]()

NEON Heating & Cooling provides residential HVAC installation across San Francisco and nearby Bay Area communities.

Planning a new HVAC installation takes more than picking the equipment. Ductwork, electrical capacity, equipment location, permits, and access can all come into play, especially in older San Francisco homes. NEON Heating & Cooling checks those details up front, so there are fewer surprises once the job gets rolling.
Once the scope is clear, you’ll get a written estimate and project timeline. Call (415) 915-9945 or book online to schedule your HVAC installation consultation in San Francisco.
A single-zone ductless installation usually takes about one day. Multi-zone systems typically take one to three days, while a ducted system replacement usually takes one to two days. More complex projects may take longer.
When choosing a contractor to install a new HVAC system, proper sizing matters. We look at more than square footage, including insulation, windows, layout, and the home’s heating and cooling load. This helps avoid short cycling, uneven comfort, and unnecessary system wear.
A typical visit includes inspection, cleaning, and performance checks. Depending on the equipment, we may check filters, electrical components, airflow, thermostat operation, coils, drainage, ductwork, and refrigerant-related performance.
As a starting point, single-zone ductless systems start from $1,500, heat pumps from $4,500, and ductwork from $690 per register. The main factors that affect HVAC installation cost are the equipment, scope, electrical work, ductwork, and site conditions.
Yes. We’ll recommend options based on your home, budget, comfort needs, and efficiency goals. The final choice is yours, and we’ll explain the differences before you decide.
Not always. If your home already has ducts, we’ll check their condition and sizing. If there’s no ductwork, you can add new ducts or choose a ductless system.
Before your heating and air conditioning installation, clear access to the indoor and outdoor work areas, move nearby furniture, and secure pets. We’ll double-check everything too.
