Stay ready for the next heat wave with professional AC maintenance in San Francisco. NEON Heating & Cooling checks, cleans, and tests your system to help catch small problems early and keep it running smoothly.
Our tech checks your system’s condition, cleans routine buildup, and tests cooling performance. What we check depends on the system you have, whether it’s central AC, a ductless mini-split, or a heat pump.
You can reach us or request service 24/7, with appointments scheduled based on technician availability. If we find a problem, we’ll explain it and let you know what to do next.
Even if you don’t run your AC every day, regular maintenance helps keep it ready when the heat hits.
An annual tune-up helps your system run smoothly by catching things like dirty coils, clogged drains, loose connections, and worn parts early.
An air conditioner checkup gives our techs a chance to catch small issues before they turn into bigger repairs. That can help prevent unexpected problems and keep your system running more reliably.
Dust, dirty coils, and restricted airflow can reduce system performance. Regular tune-ups help keep key components clean so your AC can run more efficiently.
We inspect filters and clean reusable filters or replace standard filters if needed. Keeping filters and accessible components clean helps maintain proper airflow and reduce dust buildup inside the system.

Our experience with Freon HVAC has been exceptional for a full panel upgrade to 200 amps and installation of a new Mitsubishi mini-split system in an old house. We took quotes from 4 different top rated hvac providers in the San Jose area, before deciding to go with Freon. I appreciated the honesty and detailed analysis of our needs by Slava when he first showed up to do an estimate. He asked a ton of questions, checked the house for existing setup, wiring, possibilities, and discussed multiple possibilities including ducted, gas, hybrid, and heat pump only. Once we decided to go with a specific type of configuration, he gave us multiple options. Their pricing was competitive and while it took forever for PGE to get to the wiring/transformer upgrade, Freon's team worked with them patiently to meet our needs. Special thanks to Jessica for regular follow ups with PGE and us. Once PGE scheduled the wiring upgrade (after 3 months), Freon's team was prompt and did a very clean install including all internal wiring and drainage work. They ensured city inspection was scheduled promptly and addressed all city concerns for a quick approval. I have not dealt with a more professional and competent crew in this area in a very long time. Would love to do business with them again.![]()

I usually doubt perfect 5-star ratings, but Freon completely earned theirs. My AC/heater combo unit broke, and every other company told me I needed a total replacement, quoting me between $9k and $12k. Freon came out to inspect it, and later that day, they gave me a quote for just $3,000 to repair it. I signed the contract that night, and they were back to do the work just 5 days later on June 19th. The tech replaced the compressor to get it running, but didn't stop there. He thoroughly tested the system, caught a power issue, and replaced the compressor relay and expansion valve to ensure the unit wouldn't break down again. Outstanding service. I'm finally set for the summer and winter. They deserve every single star!![]()

Not every breakdown can be prevented, but regular maintenance can help reduce the risk. A technician may catch developing issues such as worn components, drainage problems, or electrical wear before they lead to a larger failure.
Two times per year is optimal. Preventive AC maintenance often takes place in San Francisco before the winter and summer months. We do recommend filter changes and that you follow manufacturer guidelines for the months in between. Old units may need higher visit frequencies.
Visits typically include an inspection, cleaning and performance check that’s appropriate for your system. Depending on your equipment, this may cover filters, electrical connections, blower components, ductwork, thermostat, condenser, and coils.
Yes. A poorly maintained unit may need to work harder and use more energy to keep your home comfortable. Clean coils and filters help keep things running smoothly. Routine maintenance visits also mean that you catch small issues before they turn into a full breakdown.
About 60–90 minutes for a standard visit, on average. The exact time depends on your system type, size, and condition. Homes with separate heating and cooling systems may take longer.
Our technicians will explain what we found, how urgent the issue is, and what options you have. If additional work is needed, we’ll review the scope and price with you first. In some cases, minor issues can be addressed during the same visit.
